anyway, just want to encourage you people to pray pray pray and pray (!) for you seniors kay. especially our cf members who're sitting for their SPM now. We are ONE FAMILY, remember!?

and, please spend your time wisely. don't forget to pray and read the words of God everyday alright.

Hey everyone! we're alive, we're alive!
the committees had their final committee meeting last week!
aaawww. we'll definitely miss the fun and everything after our seniors left.

Anyway, i bet everyone is going through a tough time with,

Exams = depressed (!)

See, different people deal with exams in different ways. So here's some tips to get through exams by educational psychologists (wooaahh! Don't play play ah)

1. Get help: ask a teacher or tutor about how to revise, and exam skills.
2. Take short rests during your time of work and revision. If your mind is tired, it will not remember well (just a short rest ahh)
3. Plan your work: revise at times when you know you will work at your best.
4. Stay healthy: get enough sleep, eat sensibly.
5. Exercise: you need exercise to work well. Walk, run, play sport - whatever you enjoy.
6. Be positive: stop thinking about the future and failing.
7. Do your best: no-one can do more than this.
8. Be alert, talk to someone about your worries (TALK TO GOD!)
9. But don't be too relaxed! Some stress over exams makes you work hard for them.
10. Be sensible. Don't discuss with your friends after your paper. What is done is done. You cannot change what you have written!

AND OF COURSE THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP :

TALK TO GOD!! PRAY TO GOD!!

You do not need to face exams alone. God can help you. Search for Him. He can be a friend to you. Amen? Amen!

Hey everyone :) .

Just a short announcement here.

As you know, PMR-ers will have to sit for another 4(!) papers before PMR. And, the first paper will start on Wednesday. Its time to really catch up with your studies. You've got Form 1, Form 2 and Form 3 things to stuff into your head in less than 3 months time, sad huh?

BUT, 'this' MIGHT/CAN/WILL help you out. Before that, lets see what the oldies, I mean, Form 4s say about this thinggy here.

Hello people !! How are you doing ? ISCF rally just ended few weeks ago =/ . So if you see Nushka, Casovia or Lih Tyng with 'those' sour face, please leave them alone or they'll eat you alive :) They're going through, they call that 'post-rally syndrome'. For those who didn't show up for rally, haiyorh, I don't know what to say dy. You missed the event of the year man.

Last Saturday, wait. Many Saturdays ago, ( Phhewit, macam nak tulis essay aje XD ) , we've our 3rd or 4th CF meeting !! YAY !! Very lil' people turned up but we still managed to have loads of fun without you ! Yes YOU !!*pointsatJENNIFER,NUSHKA,STEPHANIEandCYNTHIA*

Sorry for the lack of updates. We've all been "BUSY", haven't we? With school exams going on and other stuffs. But nevertheless, CF blog will still be intact and updated, WHOO!

I am SURE you guys have heard of INTERSCHOOL RALLY 09. Right right right ?

If this is the first time you're hearing *which i doubt* then you're definitely in the right page!!

This year's rally presenting the theme SWITCH/ STEP UP.

It's not going to be like what you think. Because ISCF always brings in new goodies (:!

She's still on my mind.

Question:
I just read a piece form your advice column "Are we meant to be?" A guy liked a girl who had a boyfriend, and asked what to do. the answer basically said, "Live your life." Well, I am. I'm busy but she's still always on my mind. I dream about her every night and the very thought of her fills me with happiness. Since living my life isn't helping, what should I do?

Answer:
Actually, I think it is helping. Living your life doesn't mean you won't still feel something for this girl. It means you will feel other things as well. You will feel the joy of winning and the frustration of losing. You will feel the fun that comes with your activities and friendships. You might no recognize it right now, but you're letting your life be about more than one relationship with one girl. And that's what maturity is all about.
I know it's hard to have intense feelings for someone who doesn't return those feelings. But the goal of "living you life" isn't to make those feelings go away. It's to remind yourself that GOD created you to be a whole person with all kinds of interests and gifts and hopes for your future (Jeremiah 29:11 which so happens to be our theme for this year). I wish i had some secret advice that would make this girl suddenly care for you as much as you care for her, but that's just not how life -or love- works. Both of them are about knowing yourself better and discovering all the ways that GOD is at work inside of you.
So even though it might not be what you want to hear, I promise you that living your life fully really is the way forward into the life GOD has for you.

The Stuff in Your Heart

I Want It All!
It's natural to want. Most humans have a desire to want better quality or better woking things. That's what's driven invention and innovation since the beginning. Some of our wanting comes from the simple fact that we're human.

Some of our wanting, however, comes from exposing our eyes to beautiful things. Ever do this? I go the mall for a gift for someone else. I enter the store smiling, excited to bless my friend. I look at this skirt, that chunky necklace, those heels. Pretty soon, I'm disappointed and discontent. Things i never knew existed 10 minutes ago are now influencing my attitude because my eyes saw them.

Ever study a catalog, a Web site or a magazine only to come away with a long wish list? Ever watch a tv and go to bed with your mind lingering on that product? Much of our wanting comes from our insecurity in who we are and where we fit. We search for items to impress others, to make them think we're special of have money. We buy items that'll convey a message about who we want to be, whether funky, artsy, classy or dramatic. Some of these items we genuinely like. But very often, we want stuff to make us into "someone". The truth is, pretty or cool stuff doesn't make us into anyone that we aren't without pretty or cool stuff.

Every day, we're surrounded by powerful cultural and media messages about stuff : "YOU DESERVE IT!" "THIS BRAND SAYS YOU'RE A PERSON OF GREAT TASTE AND STYLE!" "BUY IT NOW, PAY FOR IT LATER!" "WANT BEAUTY? FIND IT IN THIS PRODUCT." Marketers know how to press our insecurity buttons and make us let go of our dollars. That's their job. Our job is to find out how God wants us to think about stuff and what He wants us to do with our money.

What Does God Say About Stuff?
So how does God want us to think about stuff and money? Throughout Scripture(especially Proverbs), there are basically five messages about money.

Give It.
Save It.
Work For It.
Enjoy It.
Watch out for it!

Have you ever gotten something that you really wanted, and then 3 days later you've forgotten about it, lost it, broke it or something new came to the store? And then you start begging for the next new thing? That's what God calls "the deceitfulness of riches" Stuff looks awesome - until we get it. As much as stuff promises to, it doesn't really make life better. In fact, it has made sour many young women's attitudes.

We don't realize it, but when we frequently get lots of stuff, it begins to control our minds and moods. Having too much stuff takes away our peace, creativity, time for relationships and happiness. So rather than saying, "I want that. I wish i could have it," teach youself to respond with one of these :

I don't need that.
I have enough.
I'm not entitled to have everything I want.
I'm not what i wear.
Maybe when I've saved enough.
Stuff does NOT make people who they are.

We can learn to refocus our thought life on Jesus. We can learn to ask Him to provide what we need. Instead of craving everything we see, we can learn to notice pretty things but still be happy with what we have. And think about it : There will always be people with more than you, but take a look around the world, you'll find billions of people who have less.

Wanting Jesus.
this is Kristen White's story. i wanted a pair of jeans a few years back and I got it. but soon enough, something else was popular : Brown jeans. I was newly married, and we didn't have enough money for clothes. So i took my request to God and then waited.

One day I went to a consignment store with my family. On a whim, I looked at the pants rack. There hung a pair of bown jeans. My size : $6. I could afford that. They fit perfectly, so I took them to the checkout.

"$1.75," the cashier said.
"I think they were supposed to be $6," I said.
"They're on sale today," she said.

I almost cried. The jeans weren't in my heart - just on my want list. I'd given God my list, not as though he was a genie who had to do what I said, but in humility and prayer. And He got to provide an amazing way instead of my going out to provide for myself.

Nothing can satisfy the needs and wants in our lives permanently except a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Stuff isn't worth pursuing : Jesus is. Learn to replace your love for stuff with love for God. Jesus is all I want to want. How about you?

When stuff is Given to God :
You don't have to have it - ever.
You pray sincerely.
You're lovely.
You can wait, save and spend with a plan.
You think about other people.
You're content and thankful.

When Stuff is In Your Heart.
You have to have it - now!
You insist, whine and pout.
You're unpleasant to be around.
You spend impulsively.
Your mind dwells on frivolous luxuries.
You're consumed with ingratitude.

Convent CF proudly welcome all of you to this brand new year of 2009!
Our resolution for this year is :
Have better communication amongst committees.
Faith, hope, love, and loyalty towards the CF.
Bring more members to the club.
Be organised and systematic.
Spread the works and wonders of God to others.

We had our very very first committee meeting with our ex-president, Kah Ling, in Fruity last Monday. She passed down our posts, and we prayed in a circle. The bond, the love! We discussed a little about our events for the year. And then, we departed on our own ways.
The second meeting we had was in school's canteen. Jam packed with Form1-2 students, but we still managed to discuss further on our plannings for the year, etc etc.
and finally..

OUR FIRST OFFICIAL CF MEETING 2009!
Saturday, 11-12pm, 1L.
Jenn and Nushka were in charge of Praise and Worship.
Ai Lin and Casovia were in charge of the games.
The classroom was soon filled with students, about 20-30. WHEE!

It felt much more lively and I think, we all did a great job in welcoming them. (:
Soon the time was passed to Ai Lin and Casovia for ice breaking. They started telling jokes that go like this :-
Casovia: Im going to tell a joke and you all must laugh no matter what.
Ai Lin: Laugh ah, laugh now!
Members: Har har har har har! ???
Casovia: Okay lets say all of us have equal powers. Like Im superman, and Ai Lin the invisible girl. So, who do you think will win?
Member1: ME!
Member2: GOD!
Casovia: No no no.
Member3: ME LAHHHH.
Casovia: No! Surrender surrender?
Members: Yes, surrender.
Casovia: Haiyoh me lah! You all surrendered already what!
Members: ....
Casovia and Ai Lin: LAUGH!! MUST LAUGHH!
Members: HA-HA-HA-HA-HA.

And then, theres some other jokes about cinderella stopped playing football, but I forgot how it goes. LOL, not laughable one XP. BUT WE HAD FUN. We had a round of games, taking of one of your shoes and jumble it all up. Members must pick one shoe randomly, and find the rightful owner. Pn Sarah didnt like the thought of it thought. Aha! Ms Anita and Pn Sarah said a few words about this club. And we closed in prayer. Pn Sarah spoke to the committees about everything and we too, departed on our own ways.

The One Time God Runs in the Bible

“And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son’.” (Luke 15:21)

The story, as it is told, chronicles the early adult life of a son, who after receiving his inheritance from his father, moved away, and apparently squandered a small fortune in the process. He put nothing away for a “rainy day” and found himself starving when a famine spread across the region. When he asked a friend for help, he sent him into his fields where he had to forage for food among pigs.

As with most experiences, sometimes God has to put us on our backs to get us to look up. Eating with pigs was a reality check and convinced the young son that he needed to change. Like many of today’s children, he returned home and sought refuge with his father. More importantly, his eyes were now open and he begged for his father’s forgiveness.

The Bible records that the young son’s father couldn’t forgive him fast enough. In fact, the very sight of him brought forgiveness before the son even asked. “But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son’.” (Luke 15:20-21)

By now you know the story told is the story of the Prodigal, or Lost, Son - a parable told by Jesus.

“God didn’t run,” you might say. “It’s just a parable.” True, but because this story is told by Jesus, it takes on greater importance. Parables were often used by Jesus to teach a spiritual truth. I’ll get to that point in a moment, but first let’s not overlook what Jesus said about the father. Twice in the parable the father says that his son was dead and is now alive again. “‘It was right that we should make merry and be glad’,” the father says to his son’s older brother, “For your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found’.”

Clearly, this is a parable about salvation. But it offers a message of hope that goes beyond salvation. There are many who are lost and think they have gone too far to ever be known as a child of God. This parable is a reminder of what three-time Southern Baptist Convention president and now deceased Memphis mega church pastor Adrian Rogers said, “None is so good he need not be saved and none is so bad he cannot be saved.”

Interestingly, we are often taught that God doesn’t move. It is we who move. But the spiritual truth Jesus emphasized in this parable is God will literally run to save us. Indeed, he will meet us halfway.

False Hope and True Hope

“Hope in something that can be taken away is always false hope…”

Hope in something that can be taken away is always false hope, and yet so many of us, even as Christians, continue to put our hope in these things. We become obsessed with putting our hope in money, relationships, jobs, events, you name it. After a while, when we realize that none of those things satisfies us, we grow hopeless and see greater value in death than life.

“Confidence in anything other than Jesus Christ as represented in the gospel message is to place confidence in something that will not last.”

In order for hope to be real and not false hope, it must be permanent. When everything is taken away, when all is lost, when we wake up and realize that we have nothing, true hope remains. Fo “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” These words make a powerful statement: hope in Jesus is the highest hope there can be. Confidence in anything other than Jesus Christ as represented in the gospel message is to place confidence in something that will not last.

True hope is hope in the Source of that which is invisible and remains eternal. Take a look at the list in Galatians 5:22-23: 22: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” What characteristic in that list can we physically see with the naked eye? None, right? And yet every one of those characteristics of a Christian will remain with him or her when they die and go to be with the Lord. Only God can give us that which is eternal. For those who have trusted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, the most important thing is their eternal Salvation. What Jesus did on the cross is forever. His grace is never-ending, His love is never-ending, His forgiveness is never-ending, and thus our hope in Him will never end.

There will come a day when Christ will return to claim His bride and we who believe in Him will be taken to heaven to remain with Him forever. Until that day, we have hope. Hope looks to the future and sees beyond the moment. It sees victory while staring into the face of defeat. It sees glory on a cloudy day. It sees life beyond death. It believes in the outcome before we ever begin, when we know that our hope is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

God has revealed to us a one-word description of the Christian life :Holiness.
Peter explained it this way:
"As obedient children,do not conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,but as he who called you is holy,you also should be holy in all your conduct."

The word conduct means "in all you do,in your behavior."
Being HOLY means "being set apart."

It means different- not weird/bizarre-but set apart.In other words,Peter is saying
"Dont be squeezed into the pattern of the world the way you used to be when you lived in ignorance"

In your BC days [before Christ],you didnt know any better.You may have thought that illicit sexual experiences,addictive substances/selfish pursuits would make you happy,but now you know they're like quicksand.Maybe you used to think that being a Christian is restrictive and stale/stiff,but now you see God's law are established for your good.When God says,"DONT,"He means,"Dont hurt yourself".The standard of holiness is a PROTECTION of our happiness,given by a loving Dad.

You're a different person.
You have different priorities.
different passions,pastimes,practises.
Your goals have changed.
Your perspective has changed.

You now know what God wants for you.You have heard the call to holiness,& because God's Spirit
is in you,its what your heart hungers for.

But remember,"be holy" actually means "be becoming holy".Its a process,formed over a lifetime;
its not life poof!-the moment you turn to Jesus,you're the final thing.Holiness comes by trying and failing and trying again to live a life set apart from the world's mold.Holiness takes root
in your life as you get into God's Word and with God's people,surrending your mind and your body
to the life God has called you to.

Good news =) Its happenin today.God is pouring His character into you with
every righteous decision you make to be like His Son.

The Divine Commandment of Life

Our Lord’s exhortation to us in Matthew 5:38-48 is to be generous in our behavior toward everyone. Beware of living according to your natural affections in your spiritual life. Everyone has natural affections— some people we like and others we don’t like. Yet we must never let those likes and dislikes rule our Christian life. "If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another" ( 1 John 1:7 ), even those toward whom we have no affection.

The example our Lord gave us here is not that of a good person, or even of a good Christian, but of God Himself. ". . . be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." In other words, simply show to the other person what God has shown to you. And God will give you plenty of real life opportunities to prove whether or not you are "perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." Being a disciple means deliberately identifying yourself with God’s interests in other people. Jesus says, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" ( John 13:34-35 ).

The true expression of Christian character is not in good-doing, but in God-likeness. If the Spirit of God has transformed you within, you will exhibit divine characteristics in your life, not just good human characteristics. God’s life in us expresses itself as God’s life, not as human life trying to be godly. The secret of a Christian’s life is that the supernatural becomes natural in him as a result of the grace of God, and the experience of this becomes evident in the practical, everyday details of life, not in times of intimate fellowship with God. And when we come in contact with things that create confusion and a flurry of activity, we find to our own amazement that we have the power to stay wonderfully poised even in the center of it all.

You Never Know Who's Life You're Touching

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

In the mid 1850’s a troubled teenager from Northfield, Massachusetts moved to Boston to try to find work. He hadn’t gone to school beyond the fifth grade; he couldn’t spell, his grammar was awful and his manners were brash and crude. Thankfully, an uncle took him on as a shoe salesman–on condition that he be obedient and that he attend church.

The boy had been raised in a Unitarian church which denied the full divinity of Messiah and did not emphasize human need for salvation from sins. At his uncle’s church, he began learning about these things, but decided that he wanted to enjoy the pleasures of the world and wait until just before he died to give His life to the Lord. However, through the kindness and persistence of his Sunday School teacher, Edward Kimball, the rebellious teen was encouraged to continue coming to church and study the Bible regularly. Kimball said he had never seen anyone whose mind was as spiritually dark.

On April 21, 1855, Kimball decided to pay a special visit to the boy at his uncle’s shoe store in order to ask if he would commit his life to the Lord. The boy listened closely and gave his heart to God that day. Immediately he began sharing his faith with others. Later, the young man moved to Chicago. He wandered the streets to find other young boys to bring to his Church. He had a passion for saving souls and determined never to let a day pass without telling someone about the gospel. The boy’s name was D.L. Moody….and he became a great man of faith.

Among his many achievements on either side of the Atlantic was the founding of Moody Bible Institute. In fact, to this day, Moody Bible Institute and the Moody Broadcasting Network continue to reach thousands of souls on a daily basis! It was estimated that before D.L. Moody passed away that as many as a million souls were brought to the Lord.

What a testimony Moody’s is! But we overlook the fact that it was a faithful Sunday school teacher’s obedience and persistence that changed the course of history! We may think we are doing very little for the the Lord… that we’re merely teaching a few kids at Sunday school. But the Lord can use anyone in His service — those whose hearts are given to Him.

Living Out Our Unity in Christ

Read Ephesians 4:4-6

Jesus knew the importance of harmony both in the church and in believers’ personal lives. In one of His last recorded prayers, He asked the Father three times for unity among Christians (John 17:11, 21-22).

In today’s passage, Paul teaches that there are several aspects to our unity as believers:

• One body. God adopts people into His family without regard for race, gender, or denomination. Faith in Jesus Christ is all that matters. Everything that divides human beings is insignificant (Galatians 3:28).

• One Spirit. All Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. We’re different on the outside, but as believers, we all have the third member of the Trinity inside to empower and guide us.

• One hope. As believers, we share in a common hope—the return of the Messiah and a future life in heaven with Him.

• One Lord. Jesus’ lordship extends over all people. We are to acknowledge and submit to His authority in every area.

• One faith. Believers are united in one faith, which is founded on several basic truths: Jesus is God incarnate; born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, died in our place, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Reconciliation with God is possible only through faith in the saving work of Christ. We can do nothing to earn our own salvation.

The Lord Is My Portion

A man goes into his workshop to produce a piece of magnificent furniture; but the electrical power has been shut down as the result of a thunderstorm. He possesses every conceivable power tool, and begins to try to fabricate and construct his creation. He takes the blade of the circular saw and tries to spin it in order to cut through the pieces of wood. He rotates the chuck of the drill to produce sufficient revolutions per minute in order to create the holes necessary to allowing fastening of the pieces of his project together. He spins the mechanism of the lathe in order to shape the legs of the table that he envisions. But all of his efforts are futile: he doesn’t have sufficient strength or facility to produce the speed of blade or bit or cutter to do the work he purposes. However, as soon as the electrical power is restored, every tool comes alive with potential to accomplish the tasks that he was unable to do in his own strength.

How like that man are we when we deny God’s strength, and attempt to accomplish life goals in our own power.

How weak man is compare whened to the magnificence of God; how powerless when compared to the infinite strength of God. And how unlike ours is God’s willingness to share His power.

The Lord is my portion means that one can fulfill his commission to subdue the earth – but only in the delegated power of his creator.

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Notice that Paul doesn’t say all “religious things.” Nor does Paul say “some things.” He says, inspired by the Holy Spirit, “all things.” Every component of our lives, every action that we are commended to take, every thought, every emotion, every action can be submitted to and then equipped by the power of God.

It will never be: “I can do all things through ME who strengthens me – that is a formula for disaster. But, in His power, I can do all things He calls and equips me to do because: The Lord is my portion!

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” (Lamentations 3:24)

John in his Revelation gives us an inspired picture of the physicality of Heaven: streets of gold, structures of precious stones, crystal rivers, bounteous trees, visible angels – and encompassing all, the brilliant glory of God.

Our physical being will experience sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches that earth’s experience can only anticipate. Our soulish being will experience intellectual understandings and emotional jubilation that earth’s experience can only approximate. Our spiritual being will experience a oneness with our Creator God that earth’s experience can only await. We will be overwhelmed by God!

In reality, we cannot even begin to imagine the glories of eternity with our Father who loves us, with our Savior who sacrificed for us, with the Holy Spirit who inhabits us. We can only possess a feeble approximation of what a limited mind and experience can assume. God’s Word in Lamentations gives us a picture, however, that can amplify that approximation while experiencing the limitations of this earthly existence. . . . “The Lord is my portion.”

Looking For Love

Many people spend their lives, as the song goes, "Lookin' for love in all the wrong places." So, how do we find real, lasting love?Love comes from God.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God (1 John 4:7a NIV).

Many people think that God is only interested in rules. But God is all about love. Jesus, God the Son, reminds us of the most important "rule":

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39).

"Okay," we say. "That sounds good." But we seem powerless to love like that.
Those who say, "I love God," and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also (1 John 4:20-21 NRSV).

The power to love comes from God.

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:7b-10).

Anything that we have done that is not loving separates us from a loving God. We don't have to murder or commit armed robbery to "sin." Sin
is simply breaking God's commandment to fully love Him and others.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8).
But His only Son, Jesus Christ, died and rose again to "atone" for our unloving behavior (1 John 2:1-2). Atone means to make "at-one." When we confess our lack of love (sin) and believe that Christ has died and risen for our sin, we are forgiven and are "at one" with God and His love (1 John 1:9).

God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God (1 John 4:15).

The power to love unselfishly comes from God.
Love from God is not earned--it is a free gift--but it is also learned.
No one has ever seen God; but if we love each other, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us (1 John 4:12).

We get to know God and His love better through reading his love letter (the Bible), talking to Him (prayer), and being with those who also love Him (the church). And the better we know God, the easier it is for us to obey his commandment to love Him and others.

This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God has overcome the world [of hate] (1 John 5:3).

Why Go Church?..CONTINUE!!

Excuse: People who go to church are a bunch of hypocrites!

Answer: Churchgoers pretend to be good for a few hours on Sunday morning but they are like everyone else the rest of the week. A common misunderstanding about church is that it should somehow make us better people. As discussed above, it is not the action of going to church, but the encounter with God and others that changes our lives for the better. Most people who go to church do not understand this and thus do not seek to have life changing experiences through worship and church activities.

Christians are humans who believe that Jesus is God and that He has made us acceptable to Himself by paying the penalty for our sins on the cross (Romans 6:23).

Therefore, what makes Christians unique is not the outward appearance but what God has done on the inside by changing the soul and mind (2 Corinthians 5:17). Those who sincerely call upon Jesus to save them from their sins experience a spiritual birth that gradually transforms the mind and behavior conforming us to His will (John 1:12; Romans 12:1-2).

Christians can be seen to be hypocrites more easily than someone who does not profess any beliefs because Christian standards are defined in the Bible, whereas personal standards can be changed to fit circumstances or are unknown to others. The bottom line is that all humans are hypocrites because we all fail to consistently live up to any standards of behavior that are defined. The difference is that Jesus forgives the hypocrisy of believers and has sent His Holy Spirit to guide and transform those who know Him as Savior and confess Him as Lord (Romans 10:9-10)

Answer: The Bible says that believers must not keep apart from other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25). It is true that we are influenced and become like the people we associate with. Also, by getting together, common beliefs are affirmed and ways to overcome problems are shared. There are three spiritual pillars to have a strong Christian life: personal prayer, Bible study and fellow believers. To rely on less than all three is like trying to sit on a one or two-legged stool. Three legs are needed for a firm foundation and proper function.

Excuse: Churches impose a bunch of rules and then make you feel guilty if you don't measure up.

Answer: One of the biggest reasons for the breakdown of families is the lack of moral standards. Most people who call themselves Christians cannot even say the Ten Commandments much less live by them. Without moral standards, it is easier to do your own thing and not feel guilty about it. Guilt is part of our conscience and is a gift from God to help us do good.

It is true that sometimes people make us feel guilty. During these times it is important to seek God's view through prayer and reading the Bible. This means it is necessary to be familiar with the Bible enough to discern whether others are making us feel guilty or if God is trying to get our attention. I am convinced that there are many Christians who are doing good works out of guilt rather than because they want to love and serve God.

Why Go To Church?

Every Sunday many people go to church while others are sleeping or engaged in other weekend activities. Since our weekends are limited, should we spend part of it in church? Let's look at some of the popular reasons for not going first.

Excuse: Church is boring.

"It is repetitious, predictable and a meaningless ritual. I would rather sleep in. I work hard all week and I deserve it!"

Answer: Church is repetitious but so is life. The days of our lives are structured around cycles of work, eating, family and recreation times.

Any of these activities can become boring if we don't strive to find something interesting or enjoyable about them. Sunday mornings at church are a time to make new friends and renew old ones; to learn about the Bible and share problems as well as to thank God for another week of life.

The objective in going to church is to seek to build our relationship with God and others. Many people go to church to fulfill an obligation through some ritual and so are reduced to actions without meaning. Church worship is all about an encounter with God and others that changes who we are. Not going to church on a Sunday morning because you deserve a sleep-in does not explain why you miss church on Saturday or Sunday night. The problem is much deeper than the time of the day - it is a matter of selfishness.

Excuse: Why bother going to church when all they want is money!?

Answer: If you choose to get involved in any kind of group, be it the PTA, Boy Scouts or whatever, it will cost you in time and money. It is true that, if you don't get involved in anything, you will have maximum control of your time and money. However, you will miss friendships and opportunities to be a good influence in the lives of others. Each of us decides where to spend our time and money. Each of us will either invest it in some purpose or waste it on the pleasures of the moment. Jesus said that there is an eternal investment that will not fade, rust or decay when we do good works that show our love for God and others (Matthew 6:19-20).

Ponder this! You do not control your life. You cannot guarantee that you will be alive the next week, day, hour or moment. Human life is a gift from God and He controls the measure of it (Psalm 139:16). Our intelligence, talents and appearance are largely determined by genetics (which is to say by God who made us individually unique). Therefore, who we are, when and where we are born, how long we live, etc., are all gifts from God. Is it unreasonable for God to ask for a portion of it to acknowledge Him and His sovereignty?

Christian life is NOT magically devoid of stress, disappointment, heartache and discouragement. The answer to most of them, is to get our mind off of ourselves, and on to God and others.

Today's self-help trend will no doubt categorize that statement as simplistic, untrained and unrealistic. God has made it very clear that Scripture contains everything we need to live a pleasing, whole life.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)

2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (NKJV)

Denying self is the cure for most of our personality flaws and unhappiness. We spend our whole life (before God gets a hold of us) worried about one thing: ME; pursuing one interest: MINE; judging all things by one criteria: what's in it for ME.

How's that working out for you?

The day we step down off the throne and begin a life of service and sacrifice, is the day life becomes fulfilling.

Are you depressed? Find someone to help and care for. Your spirits will be lifted.
Are you discouraged? Help someone whose circumstances are worse than yours. Your joy will return.
Are you bitter? Pray for the person you are bitter against. You can't be bitter about people you pray fervently for.
Are you unhappy? Sacrifice your time and energy to bring happiness to someone else. Your smile will reappear.
Are you discontent? Help others who are suffering hardship and lost. Your discontentment will quickly melt away.

Do you feel like "what's the use?" If personal interests consume your life, you're exactly right, what's the use. Can you imagine EVER thinking "what's the use?" when you are helping, serving or sacrificing for others?

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (NKJV)

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (NKJV)

If you are down, discouraged, tired, bitter, frustrated, unhappy or discontent.... get your mind off your SELF. Focus on serving God, and helping others. It is the cure for 99% of life's emotional, relational and spiritual problems. That is the blessing of being a child of God. God promises to care for us when we give our life up for Him. No prescription needed.

Lord God, grant us wisdom to understand that serving others and denying ourselves is the solution to many of life's ills. May we know that denying ourself and serving You is the answer to ALL of life's troubles. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Is your life consumed with your wants, your needs, your happiness, and your feelings? Is that working out for you?

We are focused on ourselves, it will directly parallel with how discontent and unhappy we are. Read Matt 5:1-11.

HEART OF WORSHIP

John 4:23-24

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

What is Worship?

Being thankful for WHO God is.
Giving the due respect, glory, offering to Him because of His greatness above and beyond all things. There is no other to be feared or respected more than God.
Even if we do not receive anything from Him, He still deserves our gratitude of being God.
God doesnt seek our worship, but we should seek to worship Him.
Worship is seeing what God is worth and giving him what He's worth.
Worship is not about the songs we sing, its about our heart and our lifestyle.

What is a TRUE worshiper?

GENUINE worship is responding in love with all I am-mind, emotions, will and body to do all that God is, says and does.
True worshipers worship in spirit and in truth.
God is spirit.
When we accept Jesus into our life, His spirit dwells within us.
God created within us a thirst to glorify Him, to want to experience His presence always.
It's about our heart, our relationship with God. Just like our relationship with parents and loved ones.
Truth is about the knowledge of God. It's our head knowledge.
We cant really worship without knowing who or what are we worshipping.
So, we express our adoration, our love through our worship.

STORY

I heard about TWO men who went into business. One man's name was "Jim HEART" and the other man's name was "Paul HEAD". Mr. Heart and Mr. Head.

So, naturally they named their company "HEART AND HEAD". Not long after they began, tragedy struck. Heart died. At the funeral, a friend of the family in referring to the company said, "Poor Heart had died and left Head alone."

I'm afraid that much of the time when we come here to worship, our Heart has died and had left Head alone. I want to suggest that we need to resurrect our Heart! We need to put our HEART back into WORSHIP.

HOW to be a TRUE Worshiper

We worship Him by reading the Word of God, praying, singing songs, giving offering, most importantly our lifestyle- our action and speecd, attitude, behaviour.
Worship lifestyle requires
a) complete availability
b) personal holiness
c) radical life changes
1 Cor. 6:19-20
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
For you were bought at a pricem therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's"
1 Cor 10:31
"Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of GOd.
Will the people see Jesus in us in our daily living?
Praise and worship session is a time when we meet with the most high God.
Worship ought to be ALIVE! Worship ought to be delightful, not dead and dreary.
When people worship with us they ought to leave saying, " Those people love JEsus, and those people are excited about the things of GOd."
THe truth is many times we're just selfish. We come to worship to see what's in it for me. We read our Bible so we receive a blessing. We pray so that God will fulfill our wishes.
BUT we're to come here primarily to worship God. We're to come here to offer Him something, not just to see what we can get.
We can praise and worship Him by singing (praise, expression), standing (respect, honour), kneeling, bowing down(humility), lifting hands (surrender), clapping hands, dancing, shouting (joy, gladness, victory!)

Conclusion

Worship is a lifestyle, an expression of our love.
Worship is all about JESUS!

When we decide to commit for life-long partnership.
We should only date if we have intention to marry the other party. It is then fair to say that we should not date if we have no intention to get married.

Succumbing to social pressure from parents or friends or close relatives. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR ASIAN WOMEN where it is a social stigma if they were not married after a certain age.

To have FUN
Just want to have relationships on a temporal and seasonal basis. Not interested in long term commitment and in the responsibilities of handling a relationship.

TWO HELPFUL QUESTIONS

Is it most beneficial?
Ask whether what we have decided is most beneficial for the Kingdom of God. If we devote ourselves in God's purposes, we will always get the best from God.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all-how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Delight youself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Is it practical?
At the same time, apply some practical common sense tests.

IS it the right timing? Sometimes, when we are too eager to start a relationship, we may make a mistake of confusing our inner needs with God's timing.

3) Maturity Level
Will we still be able to put God first? Are we sufficiently mature in age and emotions?

Dont live any longer the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what He wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and PERFECT.

Commit the relationship to God.

The Center of the Bible

Here is something that I shared with my prayer group. It is an excerpt I took from my devotion book. Something simple that you ppl can share with others as well.

Did you know?
The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117.
The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119.
The very center of the Bible is marked with Psalm 118.
There are 594 chapters before Psalm 118.
There are 594 chapters after Psalm 118.
Add these numbers and you get 1188.
Then, what is the center verse in the Bible? It is Psalm 118:8. It says,

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."

This verse actually says something very significant about God's perfect will for our lives. We're told to trust in him rather than people. If we do that right, we'll gonna find it much easier to stay in the center of His will.

When are you tempted to place your trust in people rather than Christ? You see, we often tend to trust what we can see and feel. So, placing our trust in God when we can't see him is where faith comes in.

Many times we can't see or feel the sun, yet we don't doubt its existence simply because it can be hidden behind the clouds. And there are times when we can't feel the wind. Do you still believe that air exists? Even when you can't feel it? So it's rather simple. To stay in the center of God's will requires faith, and faith is trusting without seeing.

So, the next time when someone says he'd like to find God's perfect will for his life... or maybe he wants to be in the center of God's will, just bring them to the center of God's word!

Isn't it odd how this works out....

Know it!
What often seems like a coincidence to us is divine provision from God Almighty. Allow him to help you stay grounded in the center of his will.

Pray it!
Ask for forgiveness for the times when you stray away from God's will, and ask him to give you the discipline you need to stay grounded in his Word.

Learn how to forgive each other.

A strong family is usually made up of good forgivers. We've probably done more damage by giving in to bitterness than all the other family problems put together have caused. Most of us know how it feels to be betrayed, but we dont know how much about how to forgive. Maybe its too easy to forget the times we've needed someone to forgive us.

Don't be afraid to express your love to each other.

I know you can say "I love you" so often that you cheapen its meaning, but from my experience, saying it too little is the more common problem. I think that if we discovered we had only 5 min left to say all we wanted to say, every phone line in America would be jammed with people calling members of their families to tell them of their love.

Get back to the basics.
The ONE thing, it's loving God first and then taking care of our family and friends. Maybe its time for us to concentrate just one thing ourselves.

Recommit yourself to caring for one another (1 Peter 4:8)
Men want to improve the world. Mothers want to improve the whole family. Fathers teach us what we should become.But mothers teach us WHO WE ARE.

I believe its what goes on inside the walls of your home that determines how much you're going to influence people on the outside.

If you want to be serious about being bold and living out your faith in the world, HOME is the best place to start.

So do you tolerate your siblings well? Yes, brothers and sisters can qualify as a major irritation to you sometimes. Why not see how does your relationship with your siblings rate?? Be true to yourself of course. =)

1. Your sister’s watching TV when you realize your favorite show is just starting. You
a) snatch the remote out of her hand and change the station before she can move.
b) tell her you’ve been dying to see the next show all week and ask if she’d mind changing the channel. If she lets you see your show of choice, you offer to take her place in washing dinner dishes.
c) turn and walk out of the room. If she’s there first, you know there’s no way you’ll get to see what you want.

2. It’s your brother’s birthday. You
a) pretend you forgot and promise you’ll remember his present next year. After all, he didn’t get you a gift last Christmas.
b) spring for gift certificates from Taco Bell.
c) borrow big bucks from a parent and buy him two new CDs. He’ll be expecting at least that much.

3. Your mom just discovered that her antique figurine is missing an arm. You saw your brother break it this morning. You
a) quickly inform Mom that he’s responsible. He deserves to be nailed.
b) admit he did it, but assure her it was an accident and he’s bummed about it.
c) take the heat for him by confessing it’s your fault. If you don’t, he’ll make you pay later.

4. Your sister forgot to clean the bathroom before she left for the mall with friends. You
a) ignore it. Mom will discover it soon, and Sis will get in big-time trouble.
b) clean it for her. The next time you can’t finish a chore, maybe she’ll handle it for you.
c) call a friend and see if you can spend the day, make that month, with her. Your sister will give you more hassle for not doing her job for her than she’ll get from Mom.

5. You spilled mustard down the front of your sister’s hot new peach sweater, which she reluctantly loaned you. You
a) stuff it in the hamper and hope that Mom can get the spot out. If not, you’ll deny knowing anything about it.
b) ’fess up to your sister, offering to pay for a dry cleaner to remove the stain. If it doesn’t come out, you’ll save to replace the sweater for her.
c) dash to the mall to buy another identical sweater, after hiding the evidence under your mattress. If she finds out, you’ll die.

6. You know your brother’s been sneaking into your room when you’re gone and messing with your stuff. You
a) wait till he’s shooting hoops to nab his prize comic book collection. When he discovers it’s gone, he’ll get the message he’d better leave your things alone.
b) confront him with your knowledge of what he’s done. Offer to stop borrowing his CDs if he’ll stay out of your room.

Praying every day for your sib will help. It’s hard to stay mad at someone who you’re regularly praying for. You may also need to ask your brother or sister to forgive you for the hurt you’ve caused. Or you might be the one who must forgive.

Radically changing your relationship won’t be easy. Just worth it.

Paul's Charge to Timothy

Greed --- it has toppled highly paid executives, brought down giant corporations and cost thousands of workers their jobs and retirement funds. One columnist has written that unrestrained corporate greed is a greater threat than terrorism.

Greed whispers in our ear that we would be happier if we had more money, more things and more power. It creates discontent and a growing desire to do whatever it takes to gain position and possessions. But the Bible commands us to trust in God, not in "uncertain riches" as said in 1 Timothy 6:17.

Paul told Timothy that the way to overcome greed is to flee from it and to "pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness" [1 Timothy 6: 11]. And those "who are rich in this present age," who have more than is needed, should "be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share" [1 Timothy 6:17-18]

Contentment and generosity are the opposite of greed. [1 Timothy 6:6-8]. As we learn to thank God for what we have and freely share it with others, we stop trying to fill the spiritual vacuum in our hearts with things. And when we love Jesus more than money and possessions, we find that He is the greatest treasure of our lives. We discover that knowing Him is the source of genuine satisfaction.

#1 - The Romans Road

Romans 3:23 - Man's Need. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23 - Sin's Penalty. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 5:8 - God's Provision. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 10:9-10 - Man's Response. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

#2 - The ABC's of Salvation

Admit that you are a sinner. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." [Romans 3:23]
Believe on Christ. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." [Acts 16:31]
Confess your faith. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." [Romans 10:9-10]

THE SCARS OF LIFE

Some years ago, on a hot summer day in South Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore

His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could.
Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved.

The newspaper reporter, who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go."

You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you.
The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way, but sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.

hey, I know it has not been a routine for us to blog daily and it's nice to see ppl visiting our blog and asking for more updates! =) we'll try to update more kay ^^

How was exams?? it seems kinda late to ask dat rite but hope you guys haven't wound out yet. A lil stress sometimes is okay. =p

Alright it's time for us to ponder about our real life. You might have heard of this many times but why not take this as a reality check for now.

You’ve probably heard that money has power and sum even claim money is everything to them. But did you know that Jesus spoke about this subject more than any other? It’s true! He referred to money more than He did heaven, hell, sin, repentance, love or even His second coming. Why would Jesus concentrate so much on the dangers of money and materialism?

Consider the story in Matthew 19 of the rich young ruler. This wealthy man approached Jesus and revealed that he'd been faithfully obeying the commandments. Then he asked, “What good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

Jesus answered by saying, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me” (Matthew 19:21). The rich ruler walked away sad, because he had great wealth.

Tough Stuff
Why do you think Jesus asked the man to do such a difficult thing? The reason is that the man’s possessions had become his god, and he wouldn’t part with them. He was unwilling to give up what was standing between him and the Lord. As Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

You’re probably aware of television's game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” When it first aired, it was an instant hit! Why? Because people are mesmerized by the appeal of easy money. The mere possibility of winning a million dollars was enough to hold the interest of TV viewers across the nation.

Does God prohibit us from being rich? Is He against us buying new clothes, stereos, laptops and cars? Certainly not. Wealth isn’t evil in and of itself. Abraham, David and other great men of the Bible were blessed with riches.

Then at what point does money become dangerous? The apostle Paul clarified for us that money isn’t the problem. It’s the love of money that’s a root of all kinds of evil! (Check out 1 Timothy 6:10.) We get into trouble when our possessions begin to possess us. There are pitfalls for those who seek riches, and the few who acquire them are often disappointed. They quickly learn that wealth won’t satisfy them or bring meaning to their lives. No amount of money will do that. There has to be a better reason for living than chasing after material items and big bank accounts.

Good Stuff
Now that we’ve exposed the wrong approach toward money and possessions, let’s talk about what’s right. Some of you are familiar with the concept of tithing. This is giving 10 percent (or more) of our income to the Lord. It’s something that we as Christians are required to do, not because God needs our money, but because we need to give it. Sharing what we have keeps our priorities in order and our materialistic tendencies in check. Also, by giving God our firstfruits, we’re acknowledging that He has control of our finances.

Let’s take it a step further. Some people believe that the buck stops with their tithe — that the Lord is entitled to 10 percent, but the other 90 percent belongs to them. Not true; God owns it all! “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). Everything we have is on loan from Him, and we’re stewards of all He has entrusted to us. That means your CDs, books, blue jeans and jewelry are purchased with His money.

If you understand this concept, it becomes clear that every spending decision is a spiritual decision. If you waste food, for example, you’re not squandering your own resources — you’re squandering what belongs to God. If you buy an excessive number of DVDs in a year, you’re not blowing your own cash — you’re wasting what belongs to Him! Everything is a gift from His hand.

So what’s the bottom line? I’ll sum it up in one sentence: The secret to successful living is to spend your life on something that will last throughout eternity.

Cell Phone VS Bible

peekaboo! it's been quite long since we've last updated our blog. so, yeah. cell phone vs bible. i read it from my friendster bulletin board. yes, bulletin board is useful sometimes. haha.

Have you ever wondered what will happened if we treat our Bible like how we treat our cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we travelled?
What if we used it almost everyday in our lives?
What if we start using it as a privilege?
This is something to make you go.. erhh, where's my Bible? when's the last time i've last touched it?
Unlike our cell phones, we don't have to worry our Bible being barred or something because Jesus had already paid the bills for us!

you see, Jesus had no servants, and yet they called him Master. He had no degree and yet they called him Teacher. He had no medicines and yet they called him Healer. He had no army and yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles and yet He conquered the world. He commited no crime but they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

so, all of you should feel honoured and happy as you were given this privilege to read His Word as we ponder upon what God has done for us. so, do not neglect the Word of God no matter how busy or how tired you are. if you can sms your friends everyday, why can't you set aside some time for God each day?

Using your hand as a Prayer Guide

Hi there,

yes, I think it's time for some updates in this blog. =) Actually, I don't really know wat to post up here but here's just something to share with you guys.

I believe prayer is the most powerful and effective tool God has given us and yet sometimes it's hard to know who to pray for. right? Why not we concentrate on praying using our hand in the following guide.

1. First, your thumb which is the nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you like your close friends and family. I'm sure they're the easiest to remember, rite. There's a saying dat goes like this, "To pray for our loved ones is like a sweet duty". ^^

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. It means to pray for those who teach, instruct, and heal. This includes the teachers, doctors, ministers, evangelists and etc. They need support and wisdom to point others in the right direction. So, keep them in your prayers too.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It constantly reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders of our country and most importantly the leaders of our church. Also, pray for those who supervise and direct missionary outreach. These people are the ones that shape our nation and they need God's guidance.

Prayer is the heart of your relationship with God.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Many people are surprised that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will tell us. It should always remind us to pray for those who are discouraged, in trouble, or in pain. This could mean those missionaries as they can be tempted to feel defeated. Therefore, we should always keep them in prayer as they need continuous strength from God.

5. Last but not least comes our little finger which is the smallest finger of all. It is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says,

"The least shall be the greatest among you." Luke 9:48

Let your pinkie remind you to pray for the people of the world who have the greatest need to find Jesus. Pray that they will open their eyes and see Him. Your 'pinkie' should also remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into perspective, and you'll be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Easter Day

wee! finally! an update! haha. alrite. we had our Easter celebration on the 13th of April. it was fun. attendance was good! praise God! Swee Vien led us in the P&W session. unfortunately, i didn't get a chance to take a picture of her. haha. we had birthday celebration on the same day as well.
